Michigan Community Service Commission
Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks to help support and welcome individuals and families to the United States. Volunteers will assist at various stages of the transition of moving to Michigan. The Michigan Community Service Commission is currently registering potential volunteers to assist the organizations that will support the evacuees as they arrive in Michigan.
Some volunteer needs identified include:
- Healthcare Providers
- Certified Interpretation or Translation
- Food Distribution
- Healthcare Coordination
- Community Support Liaison
- Education Tutor and or Mentor
- Education Liaison
- Financial Literacy
- Data Support (Virtual)
- Agency Support (some virtual)
- Process Donations of Goods
- Warehouse Management

Before beginning service all volunteers will need to undergo a background screening through the Internet Criminal History Access Tool (ICHAT), Michigan and National Sex Offender Registries, and the Central Registry.
